The America idea is that in order for us to do something it must be fun, or it has to be something that will bring us happy, or bring us some kind of monetary gain. For whatever reason American Evangelicalism has picked up this banner and said if it does not bring me what I want then I will not do it, if there is the possibility of danger than you can forget it, I wont risk my life, I am too precious to important. We have to realize it was not a fun or happy or a safe event for Jesus Christ to be beaten and put on a cross to die for the sins of the world, but he did and as Hebrews 12:2 says “for the joy that was set before him (meaning bring glory to the Father by reconciling sinful humanity) he endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Jesus in the garden on the night he was arrested asked the Father to take the cup from him because of the suffering that he knew was coming, but yet he says “not my will but yours be done.”

So the question comes to us, what is it that God has called us to do and to be as His visible image on earth? If we as Christians think that it is our duty to build more buildings, to buy houses, cars and stuff, and to send 0.02% of our income from the riches nation on earth, to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we are mistaken. We have been called to leave everything behind to pick up our crosses and follow this Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth.

There are 4.5 billion people in 16,000 people groups, if not more on earth at this time that have rejected the King of Kings, and are following after dead religion. And right now according to the Joshua Project there at 7,107 unreached people groups. That means over 40% of the worlds people groups only have a knowledge God that is enough to condemn them to and eternity in hell. We as the Church have been called to bring the Gospel to all peoples for the glory of God.

Oh I pray that we wake up and stop spending out time and money on things that do not profit. Let us move into a radical life style that proclaims that God is more important and follow Jesus as he calls us to the ends of the earth. For our God, creator of heaven and earth is worthy of all peoples, and He has sent His Son into the world to save sinners, just like you and me. We have been called to love one another, and the greatest way we can love one another is by spreading the message of the Risen King, Jesus Christ.
